The surroundings are those I knew as a little girl: the kitchen of Romagna with a stone fireplace and the sink beneath the window, in stone too, the table in the middle of the room. While cooking you were in good company talking to family members and friends. The furniture, which is rustic and simple as is typical for our region, was found in old cellars and houses. The photographs, shot by my father over the years, have made it possible for me to refurbish the house just as it was, including the oven to bake bread. To solve the problem of lack of water, we have made deposits to recover rainwater for the bathrooms and the vegetable garden. Everything is as it used to be, including the building materials that correspond to the principles of ecological design. The old stonewalls we found under the plaster were brought to sight and they are, in all their beauty, the proof of the ingenuity of the poor people in our region. They managed to build houses with big and small stones, which they found on the spot.
